Who’s Who in Central/South Texas: Iman Salafian

Iman Salafian is the co-founder of Imagine Devices which is developing minimally invasive solutions for neonatal clinical care. Their flagship product, the Trinity Tube, is a multifunctional feeding catheter designed to address critical unmet needs in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). This device integrates feeding, abdominal gas venting, and vital sign monitoring into a single solution, enhancing safety, accuracy, and efficiency in the care of premature infants. The Trinity Tube eliminates the need for skin-mounted sensors, reducing the risk of skin damage and infection in preterm infants.  Salafian’s dedication to improving neonatal care was recently recognized when he won the Biofest Invest Pitch Competition 2025, an event that brings together potential investors and Texas bioscience companies.

Iman Salafian currently serves as the President, CEO, Co-founder, and Co-inventor of Imagine Devices.  In this role, he oversees company operations, commercialization, and fundraising while contributing his technical expertise. His leadership has been instrumental in driving the company’s mission to enhance neonatal care through innovative medical devices. Salafian’s work is characterized by a collaborative approach, involving direct feedback from clinicians and NICU staff to ensure that the products meet the real-world needs of healthcare professionals.  His commitment to innovation and excellence has positioned Imagine Devices as a leader in the field of neonatal care, and his recent win at the Biofest Invest Pitch Competition is a testament to his vision and hard work.
Iman Salafin’s educational background is as impressive as his professional achievements. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in biomechanics.  Salafin earned his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in biomedical engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2017.  Prior to that, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Isfahan University of Technology, where he focused on the mechanical properties and numerical simulation of smart materials.
