New BioMedSA Members – April 2021

BioMedSA’s Board of Directors has approved 6 new memberships in April 2021: Military & Health Research Foundation, M-BioLabs, Renovo Concepts, San Antonio Technology Center, Henry M Jackson Foundation, and DPR Construction.

The Military & Health Research Foundation (MHRF) is dedicated to the advancement of military technology and medical research. As a non-profit, they make connections between companies, grant/funding opportunities and military medical personnel in order to solve gaps in military medicine. They are positioned to take those connections to the next level by leading grant proposals and management of awarded grant programs.

M-BioLabs performs environmental testing for health care institutions and pharmacies. They are a ISO 17025 accredited microbiology laboratory, assisting companies with: planning their environmental monitoring programs; achieving USP <797> and <800> conformity; analysis and testing for bacteria, yeasts, and molds; and, indoor quality assurance.

Renovo Concepts is developing a medical device to prevent secondary tissue loss in traumatic, ischemic and hemorrhagic injuries of the brain, heart and spine. The technology is based on Mechanical Tissue Resuscitation™, a novel treatment approach utilizing localized sub-atmospheric pressure. Their first application is intended to treat Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

The San Antonio Technology Center (SATC) is 90,000 square foot atrium office building which contains a cluster of Bioscience and Technology-related companies, including BioMedSA and several of our members. The secured facility features meeting and recreational spaces in an open center atrium. Their infrastructure is connected directly to AT&T and Spectrum network to provide high speed and bandwidth.

The Henry M Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. (HJF) is a global nonprofit that administers more than $500 million in medical research funds annually. HJF has partnered with researchers and clinicians in the San Antonio area at Brooke Army Medical Center, the 59th Medical Wing, and Naval Medical Research Unit-San Antonio. From cancer to COVID-19, HJF’s research partnerships have led to more than 200 patented biotechnologies that have applications that go beyond the battlefield.

DPR Construction builds and retrofits existing buildings for bioscience, healthcare, education, technology, and commercial applications. They understand the critical nature of the specific requirements for life science facilities, as well as the need for schedule adherence, cost predictability and swift adaptation to change. As a national construction company, they are highly rated and up-to-speed on the latest trends and requirements for healthcare facilities, labs, and biotech manufacturing.
