BioMedSA’s Board of Directors approved 4 new memberships in August 2021: Turn Medical, Durahip, Scorpion Biological Services, and CRB.
Turn Medical has developed a prone positioning clinical bed, the Pronova O2, in response to research demonstrating clinical benefit of prone positioning for critically ill patients under respiratory distress. Their system reduces the labor required for prone positioning of patients and is available for rent or purchase.
Durahip is developing anti-microbial and wear-resistant coatings for hip, dental, and craniofacial implants. These products come out of research supported by NIH and the San Antonio Partnership for Precision Therapeutics (SAPPT).
Scorpion Biological Services, a subsidiary of Heat Biologics, is a contract research and biomanufacturing organization. They are building a new facility at VelocityTX to support precision medicine solutions through research and manufacturing. They intend to create immuno-assays and biomarker detection assays for their corporate clients. Construction has started on their 21,000 sq ft space.
