Lee C. Rogers, DPM, has been honored with induction into Podiatry Management’s Podiatric Hall of Fame, a prestigious lifetime achievement award recognizing his enduring impact on the field of podiatric medicine. With a career spanning over two decades, Dr. Rogers is internationally recognized for his pioneering work in diabetic foot care and limb salvage. He has authored more than 150 publications, including books and book chapters, and has delivered over 500 lectures across the globe. His leadership extended to serving as president of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine from 2021 to 2023, where he helped establish a certificate of added qualification program and contributed to national guidelines on hospital and surgical privileging. Currently, he serves as vice president of the International Federation of Podiatry and associate editor for the Diabetic Foot Section of the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Rogers currently serves as chief of podiatry and clinical associate professor of orthopaedics at UT Health San Antonio. Since joining the institution in 2021, he has held the Louis T. Bogy Endowed Professorship of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. Under his leadership, the podiatry division has advanced its mission to prevent amputations and improve outcomes for patients with diabetes through comprehensive, patient-centered care. His team integrates advanced wound care, personalized treatment strategies, and cutting-edge technology to reduce complications and enhance quality of life. His induction into the Hall of Fame not only celebrates his personal achievements but also underscores UT Health San Antonio’s growing prominence in podiatric education and research.
Dr. Rogers began his journey in podiatric medicine at Des Moines University in Iowa, where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He completed his residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers of New York, followed by a fellowship at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Illinois. His academic and clinical training laid the foundation for a career defined by innovation, leadership, and a deep commitment to improving patient care.
