Evestra teams up with Hungary’s Gedeon Richter

Evestra Inc., a San Antonio-based biopharmaceutical research and development company that is focusing on women's health care, has inked a partnership agreement with Gedeon Richter Plc, a specialty pharmaceutical company located in Hungary.

As part of the deal, Evestra will perform certain research and development activities in the contraceptive products market. The Alamo City company, in return, will license the commercialization rights for certain territories outside the U.S. to Gedeon Richter.

Precise terms of the deal have not been divulged. However, as part of the agreement, Evestra will receive up-front payments for research and early development funding.

Evestra is also relocating its operations this month to the Texas Research Park, which is located on San Antonio's far West Side. The new facilities will include state-of-the-art chemistry laboratory space, which will enable Evestra to more fully and efficiently develop its product pipeline.
